The embrace
It is one of those moments that sometimes happen. An instant between a man and a horse. Its head is powerful and lowers very deeply, in a gesture of surrender that is surprisingly gentle.
The rider is kneeling, bent, almost erased. A Pietà-like scene, in which the horse comes towards him, as if to support him or to embrace him.
There are only the two of them, in a simplified world made of sand and darkness. Not a man and a horse, but two bodies set on a diagonal, and our gaze converging on the place where two heads touch, merge and recognise one another.
In this silent, almost sacred embrace, the world is not made of separate beings. Sometimes, consciousnesses answer one another, and the living recognises itself without the need for words.
The embrace
There are very rare moments like the one in this picture. A man is kneeling. He is a rider, wearing boots, spurs and riding trousers. In front of him stands an immense horse. Strong and powerful. And yet, it lowers its head. Very gently. As if it wanted to say something, without speaking.
The rider does not command the horse. He waits. Around them, there is almost nothing. Sand and shadow. And the most important thing: their heads touching. Like two living beings who understand each other.
At that moment, they know that they are alive together.
