Since its creation in 2022, the GRATALOUP Museum has developed its cultural project thanks to the support and collaboration of institutional, cultural and local partners.
Over the seasons, the Museum has established strong roots within the local community, developing relationships with municipalities, schools, municipal social action centres (CCAS), residential care homes for older people (EHPAD), and cultural organisations throughout the Chevreuse Valley.
This strong local presence, the diversity of its visitors and the Museum’s educational and outreach initiatives have progressively strengthened its recognition among institutions, leading to the development of new partnerships, programmes and forms of support.

OUR INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERS
A long-standing institutional partner of the GRATALOUP Museum, the Town of Chevreuse made possible its establishment at the Priory of Saint-Saturnin in 2022 by making this historic site available to the Association Les Amis du Musée GRATALOUP.
For five years, the Town supported the Museum’s presence in the heart of Chevreuse and its integration into local cultural life. It also provided regular material and technical support, particularly through municipal services responsible for garden maintenance and for technical and safety matters relating to the building.
The Department of Yvelines has supported the Museum since its creation and awarded it two grants, in 2022 and again in 2025, under its cultural investment programme for the construction, renovation and development of visual arts facilities.
This relationship developed over the years through numerous collaborations and several departmental programmes: Pass Malin in 2023 and 2024, SolYmusées in 2024 and 2025, Jardins ouverts, followed by Musée Solidaire and Pass Culture in 2026.
The Île-de-France Region provided significant financial support for the creation of the GRATALOUP Museum in 2022, contributing to the development of the project and its establishment at the Priory of Saint-Saturnin.
Throughout its first seasons, the GRATALOUP Museum developed strong roots within the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse area, establishing relationships with numerous municipalities and their communities.
Many schools have visited the Museum as part of educational programmes and activities developed around its exhibitions. Several municipal social action centres (CCAS) have organised guided tours for their communities, while partnerships have also been developed with residential care homes for older people (EHPAD) throughout the area.
At the same time, the Museum became involved in the Park’s various cultural programmes and networks, notably through the network of cultural venues and the new edition of the L’Art à demeures brochure.
These strong local roots were accompanied by financial support from the Park in 2025, renewed in 2026, helping to sustain the Museum’s activities and broaden its reach.

OUR CULTURAL PARTNERS
From the Museum’s earliest years, the Château de Vascœuil, a Centre for Art and History in Normandy, has been one of the GRATALOUP Museum’s key supporters and an important reference in its development.
Through Marie-Laure Papillard, Director of the Château de Vascœuil, the Museum has benefited from continuous guidance, shared experience and valuable advice on programming, exhibition organisation and the management of an art centre.
This close collaboration has supported the GRATALOUP Museum in professionalising its practices, developing a rigorous exhibition programme and maintaining a high standard in the presentation of its exhibitions, while also encouraging exchanges concerning the artists presented.
The GRATALOUP Museum wishes to express its particular gratitude to Marie-Laure Papillard, whose availability, experience and unwavering support have accompanied the project since its earliest years.
In 2025, as part of its 1 an à Versailles programme, the Palace of Versailles included the GRATALOUP Museum in its Rêves d’eau (Dreams of Water) series, organised in connection with the major project to restore water to the Grand Canal and France’s Year of the Sea.
The exhibition Les Couleurs de l’Eau (The Colors of Water) resonated with this programme and led to the Museum welcoming groups of 1 an à Versailles members.
OUR LOCAL PARTNERS
Chevreuse Shopkeepers

Since the Museum opened, many shopkeepers in Chevreuse have contributed to its visibility and its integration into the life of the town, notably by regularly displaying and distributing flyers and other communication materials promoting its exhibitions and events.
Through their support and their role in raising awareness among residents and visitors alike, they have helped make the Museum better known and firmly establish it within the local community.
The Jardinerie de Chevreuse supports the GRATALOUP Museum by contributing to the landscaping of the Priory garden, notably by providing trees and plants.
A MUSEUM TAKING PART IN MAJOR CULTURAL EVENTS
Since its opening, the GRATALOUP Museum has regularly participated in major national and regional cultural events, including the European Night of Museums and the European Heritage Days.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION IN 2026: THE PASS PATRIMOINE
In 2026, the GRATALOUP Museum was selected to join the Pass Patrimoine, a new nationwide initiative announced by the French Ministry of Culture and led by the Fondation du Patrimoine.
Its official launch will take place during the European Heritage Days on September 19 and 20, 2026.
