VIRTUAL EXHIBITIONS

From 2022 to 2026, the Musée GRATALOUP presented works by GRATALOUP and several invited contemporary artists at the Prieuré Saint-Saturnin in Chevreuse.

These virtual exhibitions extend the experience of the museum's exhibitions. They bring together a selection of the works on display, accompanied, depending on the exhibition, by podcasts, films, and sound creations designed to deepen the viewing experience and offer new perspectives.

Twelve virtual journeys to explore freely, at your own pace.

Between Worlds — 2026

The final exhibition at the Musée GRATALOUP, Between Worlds, brought together GRATALOUP's paintings in the chapel and Antoine POUPEL's photographs in the garden. Two artistic worlds that questioned how we perceive and inhabit the world.

Deux Mondes - Grataloup - 2019

GRATALOUP's paintings open up an inner, almost meditative space.

They explore the fundamental balances of the world: light and matter, heaven and earth, emergence and disappearance, and humanity's fragile place among forces greater than itself.

Cirque ZINGARO - POUPEL - Photographie

The focus shifts towards the living world. A photographer who has worked with Crazy Horse and the Zingaro equestrian theatre company, Antoine POUPEL transforms images through his experiments with light and photographic materials. Monotypes, portraits, moving bodies, and the animal world come together in a universe where the boundaries of reality shift.

The Colors of Water — 2025–2026

The exhibition brought together GRATALOUP's paintings and Yann Arthus-Bertrand's aerial photographs around a shared element: water. Two complementary approaches, combining symbolic imagination and environmental awareness.

danseuse Hindi - Grataloup - 2018

Water flows through GRATALOUP's work as a living force, carrying memories, myths, and emotions.

The paintings are accompanied by original audio tales that extend their symbolic and poetic dimensions.

Sables bitumineux du Canada. Photographie Yann Arthus-Bertrand

Through his aerial photographs, Yann Arthus-Bertrand reveals both the beauty and the fragility of aquatic landscapes. His perspective as a socially and environmentally engaged artist invites us to reflect on our relationship with nature and our responsibility for its preservation.

I Dreamed the Mountain — 2024-2025

Paysage symbolique - Grataloup- 2007

Inspired by the mountain landscapes of his childhood in Nantua, GRATALOUP transforms the mountain into something far more than a landscape. His paintings evoke elevation, mystery, and inner exploration, between the power of the mineral world and the presence of light.

Living Body — 2024

Awarded the Cultural Olympiad label as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the exhibition Living Body created a dialogue between GRATALOUP's paintings and Antoinette ROZAN's sculptures and calligraphic works. Two artistic worlds brought together around the body, movement, energy, freedom, and love.

Naissance - Grataloup - 1994

In the chapel, GRATALOUP's paintings explored the relationship between body and spirit through birth, life, and death. His symbolic figures questioned the major stages of existence and the spiritual dimension of the human body.

FREE, Antoinette ROZAN, 2005

In the museum garden, Antoinette ROZAN's sculptures and calligraphic works formed a joyful, colorful choreography. Movement, energy, and freedom animated her creations, which resonated with GRATALOUP's paintings in a dialogue of forms and colors.

The Warrior Painter — 2023-2024

Cavalier éclaboussé jaune - KIJNO

A committed artist and tireless experimenter, Ladislas KIJNO turned the act of painting into a form of struggle. Crumpled surfaces, drips, spray painting, and invented scripts expressed his rebellious spirit, spiritual questioning, and search for what is essential.

Artist's Books — 2023-2024

A poet and visual artist, Laurette SUCCAR brings writing and the visual arts into dialogue. Artist's books, book-objects, and installations give tangible form to words, materials, and spaces, bridging poetry and visual creation.

Livre d'artiste de Laurette Succar

The Trees Told Me… — 2023

3 pommiers GRATALOUP

The tree, a recurring motif in GRATALOUP's work, becomes the starting point for a reflection on the relationship between humanity and nature. The exhibition combines the painter's symbolic language with an educational exploration of environmental issues.

La Fontaine's Fables — 2022-2023

Lukáš KÁNDL reinterprets Jean de La Fontaine's fables through fantastical paintings populated by strange creatures and symbols. A dialogue between literature and pictorial imagination, in which the lessons of the fables take on a new dimension.

Le renard et la cigogne KANDL

Heaven and Earth — 2022

En haut comme en bas GRATALOUP 2021

The first exhibition at the Musée GRATALOUP, Heaven and Earth, paid tribute to the painter just a few weeks after his passing. Through his final works, matter, metals, and light come together to create a vision of the world in which heaven and earth meet.

GRATALOUP'S WORK CONTINUES ITS JOURNEY

Beyond the exhibitions presented at the museum, GRATALOUP's official website brings together his artwork, catalogue raisonné, artistic career, and new exhibition projects developed around his creative legacy.
