The moment before
At the centre, a white circle. Made of concentric rings. A slow, almost meditative pulse. It could be an eye. Or an open space. A place of possibilities. A silver threshold.
At its centre, a golden bird, suspended, wings spread like a presence in waiting.
Around it, matter organises itself into reliefs. The paint thickens and gathers. Something is being prepared, without defined form, without a body yet.
It is not yet the birth of Venus. It is the moment before. The moment of illumination. The moment when light enters matter. Before the face, before the gesture, before the figure. Because before inhabiting the world, a light must first make it possible.

The moment before
In this painting, almost nothing seems to be happening. And yet, everything is about to begin. At the centre, there is a white circle. It looks like a light, or an eye slowly opening. It is a calm space, just before something arrives.
Around it, the paint thickens. The red and golden colours gather. They wait.
At the centre of the circle, a small golden bird is suspended. It is not flying yet. It has not been born yet.
This painting shows the moment before its birth. The silent moment when everything is ready, but nothing has started yet. Sometimes, in life, we are exactly there. Just before.
