The voice you hear comes from Grataloup’s archival recordings. Some of his phrases have been reassembled to accompany the exhibition path.


All my life, I have tried to understand how the world is made, why it is made and what purpose it serves. I say the world, but perhaps I should speak of worlds.
There is first the inner one, so rich and multifaceted, which, when looked at closely, is an assemblage of discontinuous and impermanent fragments. Yet, however precarious it may be, it is through it that we gain access to the worlds outside ourselves. We see only a small part of the entire universe that surrounds us. Reality as it truly is almost always escapes us.
But sometimes something happens. A landscape reveals itself. Then, with my brushes and my colours, with my forms, I try to translate this subtle harmony.
Between darkness and light, tirelessly, I draw the passage between the worlds.
